Peels:
1. What kind of peels do you do? Our peels are made based on your needs, skin types, and
problem areas. Therefore, we have many ingredients that can be combined for each individuals skin
type. Our peel menu includes light peels, such as fruit acids, as well as stronger peels, such as glycolic
acid - type peels. We actually will choose the ingredients for your goals and skin type.
2. Do peels hurt? Peels usually sting, can feel hot, and can be uncomfortable while they are being
applied. We try to provide some relief during your treatment if you experience any discomfort. You
should have little to no discomfort when you leave.
3. Do I leave with medicine on my face? If you receive a peel that leaves any medicine on your
face, it cannot be noticed. What if I have used other products recently, like Retin A? We will
adjust your peel for any recent products or medicines you may have used. This is a medical peel and
your medical history, medicines, and recent treatments will be recorded at your visit to help choose the
best peel for your needs.
4. What is the difference between a peel and a microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion will
treat the outermost layers of skin by an abrasive applied at high speed to your skin. Chemical peels
can usually treat deeper than the microdermabrasion and use chemicals, not abrasives, to remove the
outer layers of dead skin. We do not do microdermabrasion in our office.
5. What level of peels do you do? We only do mild and moderate depth peels. We do not do peels
that require bandages and a weekend in a foreign city in order to avoid people you know.
6. What will my skin look like during the week after the peel? You will have some redness but
usually for no more than 12-24 hours after the application in the office. Within 2 days you will start to
peel skin as if you had recently had a sunburn. The peeling will last 5-7 days.
7. How do I take care of my skin after a peel? You should use moisturizer and sunscreen
throughout the day for a week after the application. After you are done peeling, you should continue to
use sunscreen (you just removed years off your skin, dont add them right back!). And you can use
products to help maintain the fresh appearance of your recently-treated skin. If you pull the peeling skin
off (not recommended), you can have some irritation. Over the counter hydrocortisone cream will help
with redness or itching, as well as petrolatum jelly, and aloe.
8. Can I get more than one peel? Yes, most clients will repeat a peel about every 3 months to keep
a fresh appearance.
9. What do peels treat, exactly? Peels will lessen lines, lighten or remove age spots, decrease pore
size, decrease acne occurrence, tighten overall appearance, and smooth out rough texture.
10. Can I get a peel somewhere besides my face? Yes, we do neck and chest, as well as back of
hands and, occasionally, lower arms.
LASER:
11. What kind of laser do you have? We have an Isolaz. Click here to check it out.
12. What can your laser do? We do acne treatment, skin rejuvenation, rosacea treatment, and laser
hair reduction.
13. Will my face be red after skin rejuvenation? No, our laser does not cause redness or peeling,
just collagen production, which lessens wrinkles, and it also pulls out abnormal pigmentations (age
spots).
Botox:
14. Does Botox hurt? We use tiny needles to minimize any pain, but the med itself does not hurt.
15. What does Botox treat? How long does it last? Click here for info, but you can treat forehead
lines, frown lines, crows feet, to start.... It will last about 3 months.
16. How do you charge for Botox? We charge per area, not per amount of medicine used.
17. Do you do the Botox brow lift? Yes.
Weight Loss:
18. Does insurance pay for weight loss? No. But if we are treating a related illness, such as
thyroid dysfunction, we will sometimes do both at your visit and if your insurance pays for your visit, then
we will not charge extra for your visit (some meds may still be charged...)
19. What type of plan do you use? We individualize plans. Everyone is different. Our forms help
identify what your problem area is/are and then we address each by diet, exercise, any supplements,
and occasionally with prescription meds or injections. We use a reward system as well as education to
help reinforce our success. We set both short term and long term goals and rewards.
Wrinkle Fillers:
20. What do you use? We use Juvederm.
21. How long does it last? Effects usually last 6 months to a year. Individual results will vary between
those two numbers.
22. How much do you charge? We charge based on amount used.
